“Specimens” by Tim Maley
13 July to 26 August 2018
Tim Maley is a great great-grandson of John S. Maley, whose home is now the Greenough Museum & Gardens.
Tim has been involved with DADAA since 2007. Since 2012 he has been working with mentors to produce a series of works on paper based on specimens from the Western Australian Museum insect collection.
With delicate marks made in watercolour and pencil, Maley captures the fragility of these insects and imbues the pictures with a sense of wonder and reverence.
This exhibition has just completed a successful showing at the Midland Junction Arts Centre and is being presented for the first time in the Mid-West.
“Specimens” is supported through funding from a City of Greater Geraldton Community Grant.
